An excellent light-hearted Welsh story.
Every year a prize is offered for the best onion grown in Aberdyll. For two years it has been won by Williams, and he would probably win it again, but for the fact that somebody has stolen his onion. Sir John, the proprietor of the Aberdyll Cannery asks Hughes, an old resident, to investigate. As in all good detective stories, it is the least likely suspect who turns out to be the culprit.
